NUYU GmbH (“we”, “us”, “NUYU”) takes the protection of your personal data seriously. This notice explains how we process personal data when you visit www.hellonuyu.com, contact us, or use our salon services.
This notice is based on the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (nDSG / FADP) and, where relevant, the EU GDPR.

What data we process
Website visits
When you open the site, our hosting platform and server automatically process technical data, for example:
IP address
Date and time
Pages viewed, referrer
Browser, device and operating system
This is needed to display the site, keep it secure and understand basic traffic.
Contact form
If you send the form, we process the data you enter (currently name and enquiry) plus technical metadata. We use it only to answer you.
Phone, SMS, WhatsApp, email
We process the number or address you use and the content of the conversation, to handle bookings and questions.
Salon clients
If you book or attend an appointment we process, as needed:
Name, contact details
Appointment, service and payment data
Notes needed for the treatment (hair history, colour, allergies, scalp observations)
Health-related notes (for example scalp condition) are processed only as far as needed for the service you request.
Children’s appointments
Mini headspa / children’s services are booked by a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect children’s data through the website except what a parent sends in an enquiry.
Social media
Icons and links to Instagram, TikTok and YouTube take you to those platforms. Those providers process data under their own policies. If their plugins or embeds load on our pages, they may receive your IP address and see that you visited us.

Squarespace (hosting and website tools)
The website is built and hosted by Squarespace, Inc. (USA). Squarespace processes visitor and form data on our behalf as a processor (hosting, forms, analytics, security, backups).
Squarespace stores data on servers in the United States. Transfers from Switzerland are based on the Swiss–U.S. Data Privacy Framework and Squarespace’s data processing terms.

Cookies
The site uses cookies and similar technologies.
Necessary cookies — required for the site to work (security, basic functions). These are always on.
Analytics / performance cookies — used by Squarespace Analytics to measure visits, pages and similar. These are not required to view the site.
You can accept or reject non-essential cookies in the cookie banner and in your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may limit features.
If we later add Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, booking widgets or similar, we will update this page and the banner.
Who receives data
Data is only shared where needed:
Squarespace — hosting, forms, analytics
IT / email / messaging providers you already use to reach us (for example WhatsApp / Meta if you write us there)
Banks, accounting, tax advisors — invoicing
Authorities — only if legally required
WhatsApp is a Meta service. If you contact us there, Meta also processes that communication under its own rules.
Transfers abroad
Because of Squarespace (and possibly social networks or WhatsApp), some data may be processed in the USA or other countries. For the USA we rely on the Swiss–U.S. Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified, and/or standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep data
Website logs: usually a short period, unless needed for security
Unsuccessful enquiries: typically up to 12 months
Client / booking / invoice records: as long as the business relationship lasts, then as required by Swiss law (often up to 10 years for accounting records)
WhatsApp / email threads: as long as needed for the enquiry or client relationship
We delete or anonymise data when it is no longer needed, unless a longer legal duty applies.
Security
We and our processors use appropriate technical and organisational measures (access limits, HTTPS, restricted salon systems). No online transmission is completely secure.
